Nine forum theatre performances were successfully conducted in five Districts namely Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Ampara, Batticaloa and Trincomalee from the 3rd – 12th of September 2015. Altogether 1571 general public took part in these events. They were conducted in both Sinhala and Tamil languages in collaboration with the Legal Aid Commission (LAC) and the Human Rights Commission (HRC). The public obtained the opportunity to present their concerns over the issues they encounter with law enforcement officers and were able to obtain information on remedial mechanisms from the LAC and the HRC. Police officers in the audience were also actively engaged in the discussions and raised awareness to the public on services that are available to them at the various levels of the Police Departments.
