Best Practice Psychological Interventions with Survivors of Trauma

This publication sets out the key best practices and lessons learnt by FRC’s psychologists and counselors in the course of providing psychological care for survivors of trauma and their immediate family members over the past eleven years. Particularly, it presents FRC’s counseling framework along with other therapeutic techniques used at FRC. These are in keeping to international guidelines in the provision of psychological care to survivors of trauma and their immediate family members. In addition, this booklet provides information on the importance of a holistic approach when providing care for trauma survivors and their families. The target groups for this publication are field based counselors and psychosocial staff working for local and district level civil society organizations.
